Artist's Statement:
Found materials – hand embroidered napkins, tablecloths, dowry linens, curtains doilies, polar fleece, polyester curtain, cushion fill, thread, wool batting, silk and cotton thread.
A quilt pieced together from waste textiles that through their nature are embedded with latent personal, historical and environmental meanings.
Trousseau questions our relationship to the past and the value we place upon materials resources and labour.
I place a high value on waste materials and use them to explore themes of environment, domestic life, feminism and social context.
This is a textile work that may be hung like a wall hanging or professionally framed.
